Hi, I'm Thomas. Yes, I'm 15.
I started Rex Tax because taxes shouldn't be the scariest part of starting something of your own.
Taxes have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mom and dad run their own accounting firm, and I grew up around tax season: the late nights, the piles of paperwork, and the clients who came in stressed and left feeling like a weight was off their shoulders. When I got old enough, I started helping with the tax work myself.
Working alongside my parents taught me that the numbers are only half the job. The other half is making people feel like they're not facing it alone. Now I want to build something of my own. Rex Tax is my shot at that: my own business, my own clients, and the same care I learned at home. I don't know exactly where it'll go yet, but I'm all in, and I'd love for you to be part of it.
I grew up with the same apps and platforms a lot of new business owners use to get paid, so I get how your income actually works. And I explain things the way I'd want them explained to me: simply, honestly, and without ever making you feel dumb for asking.

Book a Free ConsultIs a 15-year-old really qualified to help with my taxes?
Fair question. We'd ask it too. Age isn't a credential either way, so here's exactly what Thomas brings: hands-on experience helping with tax work at his family's accounting firm.
Thomas helps organize your tax paperwork, and every return is reviewed and signed by Brian Bleifeld, CPA, Thomas's dad, who runs his own successful accounting firm. And if your situation is outside what we handle, we'll tell you up front and point you to the right professional.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. It's a 30-minute phone call with no cost and no obligation. If you'd like help afterward, you'll get a clear price before any work begins.
Do you work with clients in any state?
Yes. Everything happens by phone, so Thomas works with clients anywhere in the US.
What should I have ready for the call?
Nothing is required. It helps to know roughly what kind of work you do, how you get paid, and what's on your mind. When you book, there's an optional box to share anything that will help Thomas get your paperwork organized.
Do I need an LLC?
Maybe, maybe not. It depends on your situation. On the call we'll walk through the basic options in plain English. For legal decisions about forming a business, we may suggest talking with an attorney too.
What are quarterly estimated taxes, and do I need to pay them?
When no employer is withholding taxes from your pay, many self-employed people are expected to pay during the year instead of all at once. Whether that applies to you depends on your income and situation, and we'll help you figure it out.
How much does it cost after the free call?
The first 30-minute call is free. We'll talk through your situation and give you a clear quote before any work starts, so you'll always know the price up front.
Your first year in business doesn't have to be confusing.
